MEMORANDUM FROM INTERNATIONAL TRANSPORTWORKERS' FEDERATION.
61, Vondelstraat,
Amsterdam. Holland.
6th May, 1936.
Mr. W. R. Spence, General Secretary,
National Union of Seamen,
London.
My dear Spence,
I enclose herewith copy of a letter received from the
Chinese Seamen's Union, of Canton, which joined the I.T.F.
as you will remember, about a year ago. The letter speaks for
itself. Do you think you could take up the matter, either
singly or in conjunction with our other affiliated
organisations in Great Britain? It would be a grand thing
if we could, through your efforts, help this organisation
to secure once more a footing in Hong Kong, and thus
strengthen its position and that of its members.
Please let me know at your earliest convenience what
you think about the matter, and whether you believe anything
can be done.
Thanking you in anticipation,
Yours, etc.,
On behalf of the International Transportworkers
Federation.
(Signed) EDO FIMMEN.
General Secretary.
